SISTER Indie Film-Day 4

Screen Shot 2015-12-28 at 3.39.56 PM
This is a screen shot from a scene in the film SISTER

Today we had more issues with our shoot than we have had the entire shoot thus far. So, to say the least, today was a little rough. We started the day out at about 10 AM and it was another scorcher. I never thought I’d complain about hot weather in December, but here I am! We started out the day with camera issues, but we ended up working them out even if it did set us back about an hour. We pushed on through the day after that and tried to keep our morale up since we had the whole day ahead of us. It’s a good thing we are all close friends and can keep everything lighthearted.

So, we kept trudging through the forests of Florida, battling the mosquitoes and sweat bees the whole way (I got stung twice, in case you were wondering). It’s still amazing to me how well we work together even with so many problems coming at us. I really am thankful for this crew and how hard they are all working on this film set. This will make the 4th day in a row that we have been filming at the same location, and I will say that the forests of Florida are quite beautiful, but also quite full of bugs and other critters. On our night shoot yesterday we thought we heard a bear snooping around! Although, it’s unlikely it would have bothered the group of us. The first day we filmed we had to assign a “snake wrangler” because we spotted one under a log. I was definitely not the snake wrangler! Needless to say, we still had a successful day and finished all the scenes we had scheduled to shoot that day. We also got to view some dailies (a rough edit of the footage shot that day) yesterday and I must say the film is looking great and I am very excited for it to come together! Get excited!
